Class of 2022 Workshops
Ray taught the final class of the term. We worked on monologues and emotions.
Cristian worked with us on applying text to our body movements.
Lin worked with us on vocal techniques, awareness exercises and some script work.
Belinda Wright and Laura Scott
Top agent, Belinda, and top casting director, Laura, asked us to prepare a character song and monologue each. They then finished off with a Q&A session.
Actor, Dwane, worked on duologue scenes with us and helped us explore our characters.
Top QC, Bernard, taught us about courtroom skills and how to portray a barrister for stage and screen.
Actress, Katy, worked with us on subtext and we explored the play 'Handbagged' by Moira Buffini
Elliot Barnes Worrell
Elliot worked on a pre-prepared scene with us and took us through the reasons for our choices and actions.
With actor, Kevin, we worked on duologue pieces and improvisation.
Actor, Alan Williams, lead us through character development work and improvisation.
Class of 2020 Workshops
We performed and worked on our modern monologues with fab actress, Ishia.
David Threlfall / Roy Mitchell
We paired up and worked on Shakespeare duologues with David for two weeks. Roy Mitchell also joined David for his second class.
Lucy Montgomery and Rhys Thomas
We created comedy characters and improvised in different situations with comedy actors and writers, Lucy and Rhys.
Screenwriter, Dan, asked us all to bring a newspaper article that would make a good TV show or film. We then brainstormed ideas of how we would develop this idea.
A great workshop with dancer, Ash. We learnt to not think of dancing as choreography but to think of it move by move.
An hour of non stop Zumba followed by a toning session to help us with stamina and fitness. Followed by character work and monologues with Sarah.
Dancer, Cristian, taught us the basic moves of the samba, salsa and the cha cha cha.
With fab actress, Susan, we performed a piece of prose that we brought in and then in groups, looked at different ways of performing poems.
Brilliant actress, Beatie Edney, led our first session of the year, looking at various ways of approaching our monologues and the importance of listening and being in the moment.
Class of 2019 Workshops
Trish Robertson and Julianne White
Alexander technique with Trish and Julianne. Readiness for going on stage, body awareness and a little bit of singing too!
We filmed a short dance film written by Deborah based around the Beslan siege crisis. Also thanks to Steve Brookesmith and Shirley Schumacher for filming, and Jim Greenhorn and Will Chapman for recording sound.
Luke taught the second half of Jo's class. We focused on performing and actioning scenes from Luke's own play 'Growth'.
Choreographer, Cristian, taught us stage fighting. We learnt a scene that we then filmed and took it in turns to be director/camera-person.
Kate did some voice work with us, a radio voiceover and then some devising work based on a short story by Jane Austen.
Choreographer, Ash, taught us some choreography and we put text into movement.
Actress, Jo, did some script work with us on the play 'Growth' by Luke Norris.
TV writer, Dan Sefton, did a Q&A with us about TV drama.
Lin did some voice work with us and some exercises exploring what we like to do as actors.
